Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars Smooth, Refined, and Exciting.......2003-06-24

Despite the moody, gothic tones of the anime itself, this soundtrack has enough variability and interesting sounds to fit every mood; from throaty, jazzy affairs to darker, sinister works, as well as the oddly-placed light-hearted break here and there. This eclectic mixture perfectly compliments any collection of soundtracks, whether they be of anime or otherwise. In fact, one could say you don't even need to have seen the anime in question to enjoy these sounds; from the first track (the excellent opening theme), you may very well be hooked.

5 out of 5 stars Hunt Down the Excellent Music of the Night.......2003-04-26

Hellsing's stunning visuals and neo-gothic storylines are well-complimented by this soundtrack, the first of two volumes of music from the bloody vampire series.

The disc offers a number of excellent tunes, from the outstanding opening theme to a number of other instrumental and vocal tracks that served as background music throughout the series. The music is often dark and foreboding, carrying well the atmosphere of the series over into audio media.

Note that the disc, though offered at domestic prices, is essentially the same as the import version from Japan, including (as evidenced by the cover photo above) the original art and Japanese-language case and liner notes--so for purists who want only the original Japanese soundtracks to anime, this disc will please at far less than the typical import price.

4 out of 5 stars I have 2 Hellsing soundtracks.......2002-12-26

Raid has Alucard on the cover & the opening(too cool) & closing themes plus a couple other cool instrumentals(one includes the death march which seems to irritate my co-workers who obviously don't find the blend as cool as I do. There's 20 tracks.
Ruins has Integra on the cover, 17 tracks, & I don't play it as much. It has the weird little "previews" jingle.
They're both imports

5 out of 5 stars A must have for all fans.......2002-12-06

This soundtrack is absolutely on my top-10 list. It has a great combination of rock and jazz tracks with a couple of weird instrumental tracks (although those are great too). The mood of the cd is awesome, the main reason I got it in the first place. I can't even begin to describe the effect this cd had on me, it's just that awesome. Get it and hear for yourself.
