Customer Reviews:

2 out of 5 stars For hardcore 'Quest' fans only........2002-12-22

I must admit that I find this release rather puzzling. The music is here is neither entertaining nor melodic. A shame really considering how cool it REALLY is. For the true power of Koichi Sugiyama's score to Dragon Quest VII then buy the Symphonic score. And leave this odd curiousity be. The track listings are as follows:

1. Overture VII
2. Morning in Eden
3. Sarabande
4. Echoes of Horns throughout the Castle
5. Heavenly Village
6. Days of Sadness
7. Stolling in the Town
8. [Japanese Title] (no english translation)
9. [Japanese Title] (no english translation)
10. Memories of a Lost World
11. Moving through the Present
12. Shadow of Death
13. Shadow of Death 2
14. Fighting Spirits (nothing like how is sounds by an orchestra)
15. Sphinx
16. Mysterious Sanctuary
17. Aboard Ship
18. Pirates of the Sea
19. To My Loved one
20. [Japanese Title] (no english translation)
21. [Japanese Title] (no english translation)
22. Screams from the Tower of Monsters
23. With Sadness in Heart
24. A Safe Haven
25. Magic Carpet (nothing like brilliant orchestra version)
26. over the Horizon
27. Triumphant Return/Epilogue

5 out of 5 stars Piano to match the OST and AMAZING Symphonic Suite.......2001-11-25

As I said in the review of the Symphonic Suite and OST, this is a great album. The only album that this doesn't beat is Final Fantasy IV Piano Collections. My favorite tracks are tracks -17-Aboard Ship, -05-Heavenly Village, -24-With Sadness in Heart, and -25-A Safe Haven.
I can't even decide a one favorite. I'm not a big piano buff (I'm a symphonic person myself) but this album is the perfect companion to the OST+Symphonic Suite album (double-Disk). If you like piano however, and am not too big on Symphonic music, this still does the OST justice, and very well I might add.
