Customer Reviews:

4 out of 5 stars Shagadelic Moonbeams in a Jar.......2002-01-12

Wow, this is some neat stuff. I bought it on a recommendation from Trey Spruance's (Mr. Bungle, Secret Chiefs 3) Web of Mimicry site's Gallery of Essentials, and it is a true gem. I suggest staying up until 4 AM with a pot of coffe and then listening at high volumes on stereo headphones. It's a quacky voyage onto a 1960s UFO where everything from big band horns to eery hammond organs to silly vocals to twangy guitar get thrown into a pot with all sorts of creative sound effects, the result of which is everything from tight musical shagapunches to chaotic intergalactic brass meltdowns. It's Austin Powers being dosed with ketamine by martians. It's Glenn Miller in a mental institution on Saturn. Yes, it's THAT interesting!

5 out of 5 stars YOU CAN HAVE FUN?!.......2000-09-16

Peter Thomas' brilliant soundtrack for "Space Patrol," an obscure 1960s German sci-fi series, is truly a bizzare gem of original, imaginative, well-composed little tunes straddling the line between modern music and pop culture.

Don't let the 'cheesiness' fool you, this is actually music of extremely high quality: sumptuous pop melodies intertwine with dissonant orchestral flourishes to create the unique "Space Patrol" aura. In addition, everything is beautifully recorded in atmospheric, ultra-ambient sound.

If you like Esquivel, The Cardigans, Komeda, Raymond Scott, Devo, Tijuana Brass--just great cheezy music in general, you will definitely LOVE "Space Patrol."
