3.5 stars.......2004-11-20
Tha Row needs to stop releasing compilations and soundtracks and re-releasing their classics and worry about marketing the long long awaited debut of Crooked I and Kurupt's label debut, not to mention Eastwood. This soundtrack has its good songs and disses as always but it lacks some production and has a few skippable tracks. It does have Crooked I on about 7 songs and Eastwood on around 5, but I'd overlook this one and just downlaod the worthy tracks.
#1 - 8 (Crooked I & Virgynia Slim)
#2 - 6 (Kurupt)
#3 - 7 (Crooked I, Eastwood, Danny Boy)
#4 - 7.5 (Jay-Z)

#7 - 6 (Eastwood, Crooked I, Ja Rule, Danny Boy - about fu**ing)
#8 - 4.5 (Ashanti)
#9 - 6 (Gail Gotti)
#10 - 9 (Eastwood, Spider, Boo Yaa Tribe - dissin' Snoop & Daz)
#11 - 2 (Michel'le)

everything functioning well in this dysfunktional family!.......2004-04-13
they're back! and better than ever...death row, now revamped as tha row, is showing signs of the old glory days of 92-96. with a whole new lineup of performers, suge knight has handpicked the best up-and-commers in the west and it shows with this album "dysfunktional family soundtrack". first up to bat is the man, the original, kurupt who lets the rap industry know that he's still a threat with his classics "one call" and "i'm back rmx". kurupt is the veteran on this squad who brings tremendous lyricism. the rapper to look out for in '04, crooked i, is most definately in the top 3 lyricists category out west along with xzibit and kurupt. he's been around since '99 and has provided tha row with unfathomable crazy lyrics that can give competitition to a nas or jay-z. "still tha row", "we ballin", and "dys fam theme song" are incredible. eastwood, a rapper who used to roll with snoop's crew, is the balls of tha row. he definately shows his cockiness and provides disses with valid proof towards ex-row inmates. check him out on "tha row y'all hoes" and "who wants to..tonight". gail gotti is like the first lady now that lefteye died. she brings arrogance to the table along with her very sexy sista virginia slim (both of which have been around the original row back in '96). check em out on "gangstress" and "still tha row". the original first lady of tha row, lefteye aka miss n.i.n.a., passed a year prior to this release, but dropped one cut with danny boy called "too street 4 tv". if u heard her on supernova, u know how lyrical she is but this time she's on tha gangsta tip and comes off very sexy and gritty with her 3 verses here. spyda is the newest member of tha row who provides a gruff voice and hard disses on his "tha row y'all hoes track". all these songs are str8 fire on this album! in particular, check out "who wants to..tonight" which has THE bangin beat for '03, very west coast sounding. another banger is the single "still tha row" which shows crooked i at his best, killin em lyrically! "we ballin" trades verses with crooked and east and is very catchy. "tha row y'all hoes" is a great diss track that i must say is very accurate and factual (except for eastwood sleepin with snoop's mom...lol) and "i'm back" showcases the ringleader kurupt who will definately put tha row back in the spotlight. i know what everyone's saying about how tha row is wack and i never heard of these punks, but do give this cd a try, at least for kurupt and crooked i's sake. the west hasn't been won over quite yet; there's still time for rebuilding and it is shown with this cd.
Yeah.......2003-09-03
Yeah this albums ill will, but I gotta mention the best track (I've heard this year)....Jay'z's hovi remix, its the best track on this cd for real for real.
I Thought U Knew?.......2003-08-22
Now yall know any release from Tha Row is gonna make the block too hot to walk on all summer. But this album with all Tha Row's Inmates and a few other guest spitters make this album an Instant Gangsta Classic. I don't give this 2 thumbs up, naw, for this record you have to raise both hands!
