The man never ceases to amaze me.......2001-06-24

These three soundtracks are an overwhelming example of 'the maestros' genius in music scoring. All three are smooth and easy to take in without being trendy action film music. They have a heart and soul that is apparant in all his work. All three films star actor Jean-Paul Belmondo, hence the title. The moods conveyed in these pieces can only be heard to be understood. Beautiful, elegant, tense, suffocating and full of melodrama.DRG does an exceptional job with all of their Morricone collections by providing lots of liner notes and such.

One of the best Morricone collections EVER!.......1999-06-19

Any fan of the trademark Morricone sound of the early-mid 70's will love this collection. There are several versions of many of the main themes, with a limit on background action/suspense music. All-in-all, just about the best Morricone anthology I have heard. I am thrilled to be able to own this tunefest! I had been requesting "The Burglars" ["Le Casse," included here] soundtrack for quite a few years, so this is a kind of dream-come-true. However, a few of the Mantovani-esque selections that were featured on the Bell label vinyl release from the early 70's were omitted, while the Astrud Gilberto songs were added [these were NOT featured on the Bell release, and I did not miss them]. This was a minor disappointment in this overall spectacular collection, with the music from "Le Professionel" and "Le Marginal" also featuring some of the Maestro's most inventive and beautiful compositions.
