Customer Reviews:

1 out of 5 stars Boycott MTV !!!! It is the ANTICHRIST.......2004-09-03

Why would Roadrunner put their good name on a CD with such Horrible music (with the exception being the Deftones a great band)the rest are just a bunch of Kid pop punk (New found glory need to be shot)and crappy Emo bands.C'mon this is roadrunner, a record label with such awesome artists such as Soulfly, Type-o negative,Killswitch Engage, Coal Chamber(R.I.P.) and at the time of this release Fear Factory. They couldn't put tracks from the aforwementioned artists on the compilation? WTF? They Might as well have put Rap or Brittney Spears on this load of crap! One star because of the Deftones otherwise...No stars, no way!!!

3 out of 5 stars Not half bad.......2004-03-09

The main reason I bought this was because it was only $5. When I bought it I already knew Jimmy Eat World's song (good), Taking Back Sunday's song (good), and Hoobastank's song (alright). I think the best on here besides the afore mentioned are the Used, Thrice, Unwritten Law, Brand New, Dashboard Confessional, Coheed & Cambria, the Movielife, and the Get Up Kids. It is weird that the only ones on here that I've ever heard on MTV are Thrice, Hoobastank & Dashboard, but may this will influence some oblivious MTV viewer to like something besides Britney Spears and Good Charlotte.

5 out of 5 stars on roadrunner???.......2003-01-04

pretty good. Only I don't know why this compilation album is on road runner records who's known for mostly metal(slipknot, stone sour, coal chamber etc.) and only like two of their artists are on this album and the rest is all pop/punk and emo. Who don't fit in the same crowd really but ohwell it's still koo.

4 out of 5 stars An interesting choice for MTV.......2002-12-17

While I respect and enjoy the majoroty of the bands on this compilaion, I must say that this is the first time I have seen MTV acknowledge Taking Back Sunday and Brand New. They are both bands who have released soid albums but are rarely publicised. However, I don't understand why MTV would associate the bands on this album with Road Rules-a show mainly affiliated with mainstream pop and rock. Regardless, the album contains good music... The bands choose what labels and companies they want to work with, and they deserve to be rich and famous. They've worked for it.

4 out of 5 stars Good compilation.......2002-10-31

First off I want to tell the "music fan from New Jersey" that if it weren't for MTV some of those bands would be BROKE!! You may think that MTV exploits but in the end its really all up to the artist and how far they will go.
Now that that is done.
