Customer Reviews:

4 out of 5 stars OOOOWWWWEEEE! FINAL-LEEE!!.......2005-04-27

This mile-high-afro-good-slice-of-funk-chase-heaven is finally available on CD! Joe Simon's operatic/afrocentric theme evokes all those great memories of bell bottoms and butt-kickin', when it was all about the discoteque, and not about bein' 'politically correct!' And as a super bonus, two of Millie Jackson's greatest (and least raunchy) chart smashers are here. Be sure the wine is chilled, the sheets are turned back and the condoms are on the nightstand before you play "Hurts So Good." (And don't forget to hit the "repeat" button on the CD player). And I dare you not to tap your toes to "Love Doctor."

As for the soundtrack cuts? Well, it makes great fantasy driving music. Just be sure your purple fedora doesn't get in your way when you take the on-ramp to the freeway of funk!

If you still miss the Seventies (or at least the 'good' parts), this soundtrack is one of the many great time capsules that will transport you there...if only for an hour.
