Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars One of my all time Favorite Film Scores.......2007-01-31

The secret of a memorable film score is to somehow convey the mood of the Film into music. This composition by David Raksin does this in away that so many strive for but seldom achieve, for anyone who has seen the film will know what i mean. The last scene where Bruce Carlton (Cornel Wilde) leads his son away to settle in Virginia, is the perfect example, the music is almost holy at times. The Quality of the sound retains that lovely 40's orchestration too, as it was remixed from the original optical elements.
