5 out of 5 stars You Own a Whitney Houston Cd? More Than One?!.......2005-03-12

Yes, some of the key songs from the film are not included in this collection. What most people don't know is that the filmmakers did have Huey Lewis' song "Hip to Be Square" on this cd, but it was rejected at the last second by Huey himself after he saw the movie. He didn't like the fact that his song was a part of such a violent scene. I know this makes no sense considering he had to sign off and give the filmmakers initial permission to use his song, but nevertheless...

Aside from the missing songs, this soundtrack is an excellent collection, mixing in some of the lesser-known but worthy tracks such as New Order's "True Faith", David Bowie's "Something in the Air", and Information Society's "What's on Your Mind" with soundbytes of Patrick Bateman (Christian Bale) from the film itself. For the younger crowd, there's also a new version of Dead or Alive's "Spin Me Round (Like a Record)" by Dope, which in some ways is even better than the original (though you can't ever top a classic).

Fans (or non-fans) of the film should like this collection of music, regardless of the missing tracks. Definitely for fans of 80s music.

*If you let the cd go for a looooooooong time, or if you track backwards (say in your car) to track 98 or so, you'll hear a soundbyte of Patrick Bateman talking about "The Greatest Love of All" by Whitney Houston.

3 out of 5 stars Just sort of eh.......2004-04-22

I found my copy at Wal-Mart with the Huey Lewis song still on it so that was a plus. but for the most part I didn't feel that the cd went well with the movie.
On the version I have if you click forward long enough you can find Batemans Whitney Housten monolouge

4 out of 5 stars Awesome but..........2004-04-03

Great soundtrack, Great movie butmissing a few tracks such as "Sussidio" one of the key songs in the movie. The music is a key factor of Bateman's personality (or lack thereof). This is a must with so many great songs, but remember thats not all there is....
