Customer Reviews:
uneven mix, but some good stuff.......2001-06-25
The soundtrack for "Jungle 2 Jungle" ranges from bouncy pop tunes to slow, quiet Spanish tunes. The CD starts off strong, with the credits theme "It Starts In the Heart" by Maxi Priest, which is a catchy upbeat tune, that you can sing along with. "Shaking the Tree '97" features the immediately recognizable voice of Shaggy, and it has enough energy. The third track is probably the best track on the album, "It's My Life" performed by Dana Hutson is a feel-good song that you can definitely sing to. Followed up by track 4, an enjoyable rhythym without words. At this point, the album features a few more English songs before a couple of foreign ones. Then we move into the original score track. The score is excellent, and has a wonderful mix of elements to give a feel for the story. Unfortunately, there are only two short tracks of the original score music, resulting in about 3 minutes total of the score. Some tribal music appears, going along with the Jungle theme of the movie. Most notable is the Afro Celt Sound System mix which is very energetic. Some of the other stuff seems out of place though, and is not very easy to get through.
