5 out of 5 stars Great soundtrack!.......2005-09-06

I love this soundtrack so much! The movie and soundtrack are both amazing, and Gary Busey made a great buddy holly, he was definetly best for the part. My favorite are Everyday, Mabye baby and oh boy.
I enjoyed it and I recommend it to everyone!

4 out of 5 stars As good as they get!...............2002-02-26

I believe the trailer for this movie stated "it will have you laughing, crying, dancing in the aisles!" Or something to that effect. Well it did just that to me! And to be honest the soundtrack is better than the movie! Holly may not have even come close to sounding like this live, but you'll think he did!You will HOPE he did! The guys (Busey,Smith,Stroud) Bring life to the music. Stand outs include: That'll be the day, Rave on, Oh boy! and others. If your a Holly fan you WILL enjoy it! If your a REAL rock and roll fan you'll love it!

3 out of 5 stars Stunner.......2001-04-29

I was less than thrilled by the film, which was downright boring at points, but the soundtrack is fantastic.

This band (Gary Busey, Charles Martin Smith and Don Stroud) doesn't imitate Buddy Holly's sound, at times they actually improve on it. "Rave On," "It's So Easy," and "Maybe Baby" give Holly's Rock'n'Roll sides a run for their money. This is truly great stuff.

Other tunes, particularly "True Love Ways" and "I'm Gonna Love You Too" don't quite make the mark. Busey's voice works on the uptempo stuff, but he has trouble on the ballads.

"Maybe Baby" is so good here it gives me chills.
