3 out of 5 stars Come on baby, let's sit down, have a drink and dig the band........2006-08-04

This CD features the soundtracks to two Elvis movies that were released in 1963.

It Happened at the World's Fair is a pretty mediocre soundtrack. Not one of Elvis' best soundtracks, but not one of the worst, either. Some good songs are "Beyond the Bend", "They Remind Me Too Much of You" and "One Broken Heart For Sale". "One Broken Heart For Sale" was the single from the album, and it was the first Elvis single since he signed with RCA Records not to make the Top Ten (it topped out at #11).

Fun in Acapulco is a bit better than It Happened at the World's Fair. The songs have a Latin flavor, since the movie took place in Mexico. Good songs here include "Fun in Acapulco", "Mexico", "Marguerita", "I Think I'm Gonna Like It Here" and the hit single "Bossa Nova Baby" (it reached #8 on the charts). There are also some pretty silly semi-novelty songs, like "The Bullfighter Was a Lady" and "No Room To Rhumba in a Sports Car".

This is an okay Elvis CD, but far from his best. It is really only for Elvis completists, myself included.

4 out of 5 stars If you like Elvis, this CD is for you........2002-01-02

Two classic movies with Elvis singing his heart out. My favorites on the movie Worlds Fair are "They Remind Me Too Much Of You" and "I'm Falling In Love Tonight" and the second movie Fun In Acapulco, I liked most of the songs and after listening to them wanted to hit my favorite Mexican restaurant. The songs really put you in the mood. My favorite song off of Acapulco is "Marguerita". Listen to Elvis' deep voice that really delivers chills in this one...forget Bossa Nova Baby as the hit off this movie, we've heard it a million times if your a baby boomer and to me has lost its luster. But this is a great CD all in all and definitely should be part of your collection. You really get your moneys worth with Elvis tunes on this one.
