Album Description
<P><b>Nominated for a 2004 European Film Award, the Free Association's (David Holmes and Steve Hilton) music to CODE 46</b> features an atmospheric and contemplative score. Influenced dually by techno and film music, David Holmes and Steve Hilton are known for soundtracks that translate the emotional power of their films. Holmes and Hilton have released a number of critically acclaimed albums, and their <b>film credits include OUT OF SIGHT, ANALYZE THAT, OCEAN'S ELEVEN and OCEAN'S TWELVE.</b> <P>Starring <b>Academy Award® winner Tim Robbins</b> and <b>Academy Award® nominee Samantha Morton, Michael Winterbottom's</b> (24 HOUR PARTY PEOPLE, WELCOME TO SARAJEVO, THE CLAIM, 9 SONGS) dystopian thriller CODE 46 is a sci-fi noir set in the near future, revolving around two people struggling to find solace in a world of disorder. CODE 46 was nominated for a Golden Lion at the Venice Film Festival, Golden Satellite Award, British Independent Film Award, and four European Film Awards. The United Artists release hit theaters August 2004, and is now available on DVD.
Customer Reviews:
I can love you...it doesn't hurt!.......2006-09-02
This soundtrack is amazing. It is so melodic and just fits with the movie being set in the near future. The other reviewers nail this one, so there is not too much else to say.
The song in the club is by Freakpower "Song 6" to help you narrow down your searches. Which isn't on this soundtrack, but for good reason...the rest of the songs have no lyrics, so this track would have felt out of place on this disk.
Also reviewer D. Garcia mentions some other songs that aren't on the disk as well, again for good reason.
"Row Row Row the Boat" (is sung as a Lull-a-bye) and is about 20 seconds long.
"Should I Stay or Should I Go Now" is being sung in a Karaoke bar (look closely at who is singing it).
"No Woman No Cry" Is sung by the two main characters, and horribly out of tune if I might add...(Maria is Tone Deaf.)
The others D. Garcia mentioned, I am not sure of why they didn't make it, but I am positive on why the ones I listed did not make the soundtrack.
Even without all the songs in the movie, this is one great soundtrack. Pick it up before it goes Out Of Print!
Clearing doubts........2006-08-04
Some people tend to be confused about this soundtrack. The whole soundtrack was composed by David Holmes (also did the soundtrack for ocean's eleven) and does not include those other songs in the film. Following up are the complete song credits for the ones that did not appear in the soundtrack but did on the film:

Song In Dance Club.......2005-11-16
Hey ! This is a great CD from one of my new favorite movies! I'm being told that the song everybody loves ( that Maria dances to in the club ) is from a group named Freak Power. The cut is called "Song No. 6" and it is on the album entitled More of Everything for Everybody. Hope this helps...!
