Really Liked This!!!!.......2007-01-03

This is an awesome LP, especially if you're in the mood for a little New Orleans style piano sound. The tracks are well mixed between piano solos that are performed by Dave Grusin and other various artists that make up a great range of adult listening pleasure. I have had many dinner parties with this CD playing in the background, it works great and the guests enjoy it.

I love love love all kinds of movies and their music, so it's really rare that i find a soundtrack from one particular movie that stands out as a favorite for me. But I have to say that this is my favorite soundtrack of any movie. Grusin is a genius in his composing and performing. And the other artists that contributed to this soundtrack were just as outstanding. The only song on this cd that I could do without is "Never Mind", but everything else is stellar. I loved it so much I ended up seeking out some of the other artists' albums, and I also bought the sheet music for piano and am trying to master every song. If you love jazz/blues piano, you'll enjoy this album. (All this paired with a great screenplay and awesome actors makes The Firm one of my favorite movies as well.)

Outstanding!.......2005-07-27

This soundtrack is filled with outstanding music. The moment I saw the film, I knew I had to get this soundtrack. You can sit back and listen to this at home, or while you're at the office, or in the car. It's really a feel-good CD. Enjoy!

Not So Firm.......2004-10-28

Once again Mister Grusin demonstrates his inability to score a film. His music is not bad but he has no inkling about the rigors that go into scoring a film. I suppose he has been around long enough and he did score THE GRADUATE but he still has not shown any real depth when it comes to getting inside the characters we see on the screen. His compositions lack depth and that important spark of emotion. Sorry.
