Album Description
The double album, compiled by James Doman and Positiva's Ben Cherrill, brings together the film's musical highlights across 2 CDs. The first highlights the more melancholic moments from the film, and opens with an exclusive Graham Massey remix of the seminal 'Pacific State' by 808 State, it then takes you on a serene journey through tracks such as the classic 1930's love song 'Parlez Moi D'Amour' by Lucienne Boyer, the Beta Band's 'Troubles', and Goldfrapp's awesome remake of Depeche Mode's 'Halo' before finishing up with the Beach Boys' 'Good Vibrations' and Barefoot's unique new version of 'White Lines'. CD 2 moves things up a gear, with an outstanding selection of Frankie Wilde's clubbing highlights that includes anthems such as Deep Dish's 'Flashdance', Shapeshifters' awesome new single 'Back To Basics', Ferry Corsten's 'Rock Your Body Rock' alongside the exclusive Doublefunk feat. Frankie Wilde 'Can You Hear Me Now', plus Reflekt's 'Need To Feel Loved', and Orbital's festival fave 'Frenetic'. EMI. 2005.
Customer Reviews:
Amazing Soundtrack to a fun film.......2007-02-20
I enjoyed the film, It's All Gone Pete Tong, but the soundtrack blew me away. I've listened to this 2 disc set more times than I can count, and it's just expertly mixed, feel-good music. Not a bad track on the set, in my opinion. Disc 1 is more laid back, chill-out music, while disc 2 is classic club tunes. Play it loud at house parties as it was intended to be.
Highly recommended for fans of house music.
"copy protection" strikes again.......2006-04-16
Paid thirty bloody dollars for the two-disc set, received a badly mangled jewel case that appears to have previously been opened (dog-eared booklet) and discs that play on my home DVD player but not on my aftermarket car stereo, presumably because of the "copy protection". Didn't dare put the discs into my computer for fear of getting malware installed. Way to go EMI. Returned the set.
Great CD!.......2006-03-31
After watching the movie, we ordered the cd. We loved the cd as much as the movie! The "Night" cd is more our taste in music, but the "Day" cd has some very good songs as well. The only thing that was disappointing is the version of "Rock Your Body" on the cd. It is still a good song, just not the same as in the movie.
nostalgic.......2006-01-21
i've always loved Pete Tong and his essential mixes. then came this movie about the days long gone. movie was awesome and so is this album. every song has it's value. day and night.
