5 out of 5 stars Southern Isolation.......2006-11-17

Like everyone else, I was curious becuase she is the ex-wife of the Almighty Philip Hansen Anselmo. This is a great CD, Opal's voice is killer. I was a little disappointed that the song "Southern Man" which Phil sings on is not on this CD. It is on the Souther Isolation My Space page and it is a great song.

ill be honest, i only decided to check this out probably for the same reason we all did. shes phils wife and hes on it. but when i actually listened to the songs i was blown away. ive always loved lilstening to girls sing music like this with a real dark feel to it. ok so maybe shes not the best gutar player in the world but not everyone can be jimmy bower or dimebag(rip). but when i listen to this cd im in another world for 20 minutes and then all i can do is listen to it all over again. opal has the most beautiful voice ive ever heard and the darkness and emotions this album evoke takes talent genuis and someone with soul. this is up there with NOLA,take as needed for pain and when the kite string pops. this is one of the deepest pieces of music ive ever heard. so dont question the talent here or the depth and darkness of this masterpiece. southern issolation , the name says it all. my only complaint is that this is all there is and all we may ever have. these 4 songs have burned a hole in my soul were its gonna be forever. if u can find it buy it try newburry comics or any used cd stores you really fu**ing yourself over if u dont own this

1 out of 5 stars Heartfelt? Heartburn!.......2003-12-03

The lyrics? Decent, but most anyone with a creative bone in their body can come up with a few good songs. The music? If she's playing guitar with her feet, then this is quite excellent work. If not, take some lessons. Oh and work on your vocals too, or was she trying to sound like Courtney Love with a headcold? Just listen to the clips on here, that's more than enough of this BS than you'll ever need to hear.
