Album Description

The most comprehensive Cyndi set has all her hits, 'Girls Just Want To Have Fun', 'Time After Time', 'Money Changes Everything', 'I Drove All Night' & 'True Colors', to name a few, but you also get some hard to find tracks 'The Goonies 'R' Good Enough' (From The Goonies Soundtrack), 'Hole In My Heart' (All The Way To China from Vibes, the 1988 movie she starred with Jeff Goldblum) and a Marvin Gaye cover 'What's Goin On.' Standard double jewel case. Timeless/Sony Music. 2002.

Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL!.......2003-10-25

I think this collection is worth the price just to hear "Hole in My Heart (That Goes All The Way To China)" from the soundtrack of "Vibes on Compact Disc. BUT, you'll also have hits, rare b-sides (also sounding marvelous on CD)and other great songs by Cyndi Lauper. There may not be liner notes but SO WHAT, you get 3 CD's of great music and a pretty neat cover. It is meant to be a budget line release but it is still really special...Much like the "Legendary" series you may see around now with artists from Hall & Oates to Dolly Parton to the Pointer Sisters (usually packaged with simple navy blue artwork and a small essay inside). I'm so happy with this purchase and look forward to the "At Last" album coming out in November of 2003. Oh, and if you get a chance try to find Cyndi's song "The World Is Stone" (a beautiful ballad)...I got it on a French Import Compilation right here on Amazon.com :->

5 out of 5 stars Most complete collection. Best value for your money.......2003-10-14

The best and best known of Cyndi Lauper is here (except She Bop). It also has all the B-Side that so far were only on very hard to find and expensive used singles.
The packaging is not great but for the price you can hardly ask for more. The quality of the tracks is great. If you are pressed to find info on any of the songs you can get it at cyndilauper.com along with just about everything you need to know about Cyndi. That website is always up-to-date and very accurate.

5 out of 5 stars Rarities Galore.......2003-10-09

As a rabid fan of everything Cyn, I have to say that this compilation is simply brilliant! Otay, otay, so...The packaging isn't all that & a box of Cheerios, but...The music included (some never released on disc before) is what really matters & it's great! All of it! I'm so excited to finally have "Right Track Wrong Train," "Heading For The Moon," "Cold," & "Unabbreviated Love" not only on compact disc, but in one place! YAY! If you're a fan of Ms. Lauper's career & work, this a great compilation & despite the absence of "She Bop," well worth the purchase price.

2 out of 5 stars I love Cyndi Lauper.......2003-07-22

An amazing talent, unrivaled. Well, that's my opinion. The less than stellar review is for the package, not the music.

Three CDs in a double CD case I haven't seen since the mid 80s. I thought these CD cases were extinct! Very cheap!

There is NO CD book included. All we get is three CDs and a list of tracks. It might as well be a CD-R burned in someone's basement.

That being said, there are a few gems that I didn't previously own; this is a good thing. Thanks to the miserable packaging, however, for songs that are new to me I know nothing more than their title. I have no clue when they were recorded or where they first appeared (on the B side of this or that, etc.).

For [the price] I think someone somewhere could have put some effort into creating a nice CD package. Cyndi deserves better. When the CD arrived, I was VERY disappointed.

No matter what... nothing will ever change the bottom line - I love Cyndi Lauper.
