Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars Doesn't get any better.......2004-12-30

I have not played any CD more than this one in years. I bought it listened to it and forgot about it. For some reason I missed how good it was on first listen. "Stay Away Girl" and "Nobody Loves You" This is how the Stones used to sound when they were really good. Too bad rock this good is so hard to find. I cannot recommend this enough!

5 out of 5 stars You must have this..........2004-10-28

Wonderful, wonderful band from Cincinnati. If you do not own this cd then your music collection is definitely lacking! You will not be disappointed.

5 out of 5 stars The Real Deal.......2004-04-10

This is one of those albums a true rock fan will never be able to get enough of. The 60's garage band-style of no holds barred, straight up, no BS rock is finally making a well-deserved comeback, and The Greenhornes are a fine example of why. The White Stripes, blah blah blah, The Strokes, yadda yadda yadda, The Hives, whatever. The garagey bands that get press are all quite fine, and I really like most of them and think they are quite entertaining, but bands like The GreenHornes, The Black Keys, The Datsuns, and even The Libertines and The Walkmen, are where the future of rock is, at least for today. The "The" bands are where it's at, and The Greenhornes are at the forefront.

A fine album from a great band, at a time when even the few really cool albums at big-name record stores are watered down. Solid all the way through. Buy this, buy their other albums, go see them if they happen to be anywhere nearby, buy albums by bands they play with, and give them any money you might still have left. Rock N Roll needs your support!

5 out of 5 stars Garage gods of the future.......2002-03-10

If today's garage rock scene suddenly fell off the map, only to be resurrected some years later by a Lenny Kaye type compiling a 21st Century version of "Nuggets," the Greenhornes would surely have the same kind of respect today's garage afficionados afford to classic bands like the Standells, the Remains and the Sonics.
As things stand, the Greenhornes are absolutely, beyond a doubt, one of the best bands playing real, live, raw rock and roll music today, and one of the most powerul live acts currently gracing America's stages.
On their second full-length album, The Greenhornes rock out with breathtaking passion and energy. "Lies" has all the snot and vitriol of the best 60's pounders, while the band's brooding side is captured perfectly on tracks like "Let Me Be" and "Stay Away Baby." And the group's taste in covers is equally impressive. Their take on the Animals' "Inside Looking Out" is a mind-bending acid opus, and "It's My Soul" conjures up more authentic blues flavor than a bunch of 25-year-old guys from Cincinnati should rightfully be able to handle.
With soulful, world-weary vocals, potboiling organ and more fuzz than you can shake a Tele Custom at -- "Greenhornes" is a garage rock classic to be.
