Customer Reviews:
A biased review of Dancing,Dreaming ,Longing .......2006-08-05
This is one of my favorite new artists. I've enjoyed Dawn's ethereal singing and songwriting since her days with Rain Fell Within. She tries a few different music styles here with great success. I would recommed this cd to anyone. Dawn has several fans where I work and not just because she's my niece (hence the bias).
Simply enchanting.......2006-02-13
I am new to Dawn Desiree. I received a copy of "Dancing, Dreaming, Longing" from a friend awhile back. I was immediately enchanted by Dawn Desiree's beautiful soprano voice. Dawn's music is a beautiful mix of classical and pop music. One of my personal favorite songs is "What is Real". The classical melodies and Dawn's stunning soprano vocals simply took my breathe away. "Plastic Girl" takes an interesting turn by incorporating dance beats. Surprisingly Dawn's operatic vocals and the crisp synth melodies and pulsating electronic beats matched well. This blend of classical and dance beats continues with "How We Portray". It was a nice change in pace. "Dancing, Dreaming, and Longing..." is a good cd. My most personal favorite song on the cd is "My Wings" a haunting epic. For some odd reason, Dawn reminded me a bit of Loreena McKennitt. The only flaw with this cd is that it is so short. On the other hand it left me eager to hear more from this talented artist.
Dawn Desiree' is Awesome.......2005-08-19
If you dig new age music, you'll love Dawn Desiree's "Dancing, Dreaming, Longing". She sounds much like Enya, but different as well in that there are more percussions in Dawn's music. In "Waltz of the Afterlife", my favorite tune on the CD, Dawn uses an operatic voice to convey her perceptions of life as one of the newly departed from life. "Dance in Time" and "Revenge" are harsher pieces but show genious in the underlying harmony that makes the songs particularly enjoyable. "What is Real", "How we Portray", "Feel Me", and "My Wings" are also excellent tunes that I enjoy listening to and are on par with the average non-hit tunes that someone like Enya has on her CDs. "Plastic Girl" is very good, but it has a sadness to it that makes it less enjoyable to put in a repeat-one-track loop than any of the other tracks. I love this CD.
