5 out of 5 stars Mellow but Complex Rose City Sound.......2005-12-01

Amazing, amazing, amazing. These guys are incredibly talented. Multi-layered music, lovely vocals, intriguing lyrics and an overall fantastic experience. Highly recommended.

The guys played together again this year and I missed it! I'm very very bummed...

5 out of 5 stars A Phoenix rises out of Portland, Oregon!.......2003-10-08

As a fellow Portlander, I am, of course, a huge Kerosene Dream fan, but validly so. Kerosene Dream is a great band and From the Sundown Sky is a great album. The songs on this album have that folky, almost rockabilly, quality. "'79 Country Squire" is a great roadtrip song and I always listen to it on the road changing the lyrics to suit the make and model of the car I am currently driving. "Chance" is perhaps my favorite song on the album. Not only is it a good, singable song, but lyrically I feel that it is about me. "All in Black" is excellent with exceptional lyrics. "Phoenix" is the song I bought the album for. I first heard this song performed live on a local radio station years ago and I was amazed. I went to see the band that weekend and purchased the album. "Phoenix" is still probably their best song. Kerosene Dream may not have "made it big" yet, but what the hell does the mainstream know anyway. Kerosene Dream produces quality music and I am proud that they are from my home town!

5 out of 5 stars Kerosene Dream has the best roots music in the NorthWest........1999-11-01

The first time I heard this album, I could'nt believe my ears. It stayed in my ears & my CD player for weeks. Thier music & thier lyrics both have a down home feel that lifts the heart & spirit. While listening, you can't help but tap your foot, & sing outloud. This CD could quite possibly be the best one I have ever owned.

5 out of 5 stars Ten Thousand Famous Bands Aren't Close to This Good.......1999-07-31

Some of these guys have been traipsing across the northwest since long before grunge's rise and (whew, thank god) fizzle. Nine Days Wonder, The Renegade Saints--old Dave Coey bands that moved yer feet & heart both. Listen to the samples, buy the CD, nuff said.
