Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars The Go rocked Indy!.......2003-09-24

I saw them in Indianapolis as well, and I must say they ROCKED! I wish they would have played longer because they blew our minds. I was there to see GBV(one of my favorite bands, but a very disappointing show out of the many I've attended in the past)and I think The Go stole the show. Come back to Indy!

5 out of 5 stars GO and get this album!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.......2003-09-14

It's late Saturday night in the bowels of the Indianapolis music underground...
Enter the Go, who I might describe as a thuggish MC5 (because they're from detroit maybe? It might also have been the flags). Every part of their image was perfect, from the American flag draped over semi-campy PSYCHADELIC vintage full stacks at the back of the stage to guitarist John Krautner (who looked JUST LIKE Ron Ashton dipped in black ink). Yards of black leather, tight jeans, cowboy boots, hurtling all around the stage - as well as vocalist Bobby Harlow who swiveled and rolled around on stage like a sick and twisted gymnast, occasionally pausing to blast us with his harmonica. It was great! It was like my record collection coming to life, animating rock and roll golems and rocking me out. After the show I walked up to John Krautner and stuttered and told them how great their band was, and then spent my last 10$ on a T-Shirt (extra tight and extra black).
I stood and smiled and stared and clapped and yelled and closed my eyes and moved my legs, in a way that I have not done in a LONG TIME. To Just!n and FUMAGE, I give my extra special props. MORE MORE MORE!

5 out of 5 stars The Most Outstanding Rock Album of the Year.......2003-09-14

This is absolutely the most fun I have had listening to a rock-n-roll record. Although the Go's 1st album, Watcha Doin', set a high standard, this record tops that effort. The production quality is improved, but still retains that edgy Go feel.
Summer's Gonna Be My Girl has a great pulsing, ominous beat...It Ain't That Bad is catchy with a sound reminiscent of the Faces (Rod Stewart's old band)...
Listening to this album I felt like I was transported back in time to 1974...the golden age of rock.

Although they are on a small indie label without much publicity firepower, the Go's popularity is spreading like wildfire with every show. This latest recording is easily their best effort to date. With the rise of the Detroit-rock sound (see The White Stripes) big things are in store for this band. The sound, the talent, and the fun are all there.

True rockers will NOT be disappointed with this album!!!

4 out of 5 stars not as good as watcha doin.......2003-09-09

this is without a doubt a good album. just bear in mind that it is not as good as the 1999 release watcha doin. im sure many people will try to convince themselves that the reason for this slump is because of Jack White's absence. that is simply not true. the main reason is the songs are much more diverse than on watcha doin. some songs are accoustic some electric some both. further more, Bobby Harlow (the singer)isnt being himself. its just like in all of those made for tv movies when the girl the main charecter wants tells him to "just be your self." thats a roundabout way of saying that Mr. harlow seems to imitate some famous singers from the 70s(mick jagger, ozzy osbourne, marc bolan) as opposed to just singing normally.

the songs are there though. some highlights include american pig, capricorn, aint that bad,i got it/ if we try, games are all good stompin rock and roll fun.

1 out of 5 stars don't waste your money.......2003-08-11

The hype for this band is shameless ... they latch on to the fact that this was Jack White's band. They kicked him out ... I guess we all know who is laughing all the way to the bank.
