For the life of me, I can't figure out how or why this band has been so consistently ignored, when so many similar bands (Pelican, Isis, Explosions in the Sky) are getting more and more attention. Maybe it's their minimalist image.

They've definitely carved their own niche, though. Depending on where you come from, they're either the heaviest of the post-rock bands, or the most melodic of the sludge/stoner/doom bands.

There's a somewhat dirty quality to the production which makes a nice juxtaposition to all the beauty of the notes themselves.
