A brilliant release and must own.......2004-04-23
This Finnish band (who's name means artichoke in Finnish) is the work of Jari Hilden with help from 2 member of another great Finnish band, Cessna. The music tends toward the light and acoustic, however there is a great degree of depth to the songs. But don't get the impression it's a tired shoegaze or twee affair, as it certainly is not that. There is depth, clarity, and a good degree of "adultness" involved here. What's more, there is genuine heartfelt ernestness and passion about the entire affair. While likeable at first, this complexity requires more time from the listener but if you are willing, it will grow more important with every listen. A deep and poignant record just bursting with sublime beauty.
