I love this label!.......2004-01-10

This is a unique tribute comp CD in a world with too many tribute comps. Rather than focus on a sole artist, this CD set 20-some artists of varying stature free to pick and choose their favorite songs from the wild Stiff catalog. Matthew Sweet, Bill Lloyd, and Amy Rigby deliver the goods as expected, but a lot of less-known bands shed new light on singles that never made much of an impression on me the first time around (e.g. the Trolleyvox covering "Is Vic There?"). Contributions and cool liner notes by original Stiff artists like Ian Gomm are an added bonus!
