Customer Reviews:

1 out of 5 stars Dallas - Cheese on a Monday.......2002-08-23

It goes to show you, people are going to have different opinions. The first reviewer loved this show. I really didn't like this show. I felt that the band really lacked the energy that they had in Austin, and afterwards, I felt that this was one of the weakest performances I'd seen in a few years.

The show has some highlights, especially the end of the first set, where "ON THE ROAD" was really inspired and good enough to make it to my "Best moments of the Spring Tour". After the strong ending to the first set, I was hoping that the energy would continue to the second set, but I just didn't seem to happen.

If you're buying the whole series, and you have to have this show, by all means, don't let me stop you. If you were there, and you liked the show, buy it. But if you're browsing around looking for one of the Spring OTR shows to buy, I suggest you look at 4/27, 4/21, 4/13, 4/6, 4/5, 4/19 and 4/20 first.

5 out of 5 stars bronco bowl review.......2002-08-22

Excellent show with great energy, the crowd was hype in the venue and chz played very well. A good show to own expessialy if you were there.

4 out of 5 stars Cheese in the Big D.......2002-08-06

String Cheese Incident tore up the Bronco Bowl in their latest visit to Dallas. I attended this show and was extremely impressed by their performance on the 8th of April. It was my first full Cheese show and each song gave me a taste of thier talents. This is a great CD to purchase to get the full flavor of the String Cheese Incident. You get latin rhythms in "Latinissmo" which is reminiscent of some early Santana jams. "Cottonmouth" and "My Way" show they're big fans of Hank Williams and Merl Haggard. The funky "BAM!" ventures into electronic territory, "On the Road" displays their rock tastes, and "Shantytown" gets groovin with some reggae influences. And their original bluegrass sound can be heard in "Lonesome Road Blues". For those of you who haven't heard any SCI, you might have heard of some of their covers on the album which include Herbie Hancock's tight and funky "Chameleon" and Bob Dylan's powerful "Just Like Tom Thumb's Blues." Both are great interpretations.
