Customer Reviews:
Great CD by One of Bay Area's Best Locals.......2001-06-12
There was a time when "True To Form" ruled the Bay Area scene. Their combination of old and new school thrash was addictive to anyone who came in contact. Even though True To Form isn't around anymore, and this CD is out of print, it still remains as one of the best Local CDS ever released in the Bay Area. The CD starts off with the incredibly catchy "Determined", and never stops the pace or the melodic riffs. Guitarist/Vocalist Ron Taniguchi' voice is expected for a New School Thrash band, but it does blend extremely well with the rest of the band. Guitarist Steve, is right on target with Ron's guitar work, and at times goes off on his own showing technical, innovative guitar riffs. Bassist Eugene, is downtuned, following the riffs of his fellow mates, and rarely goes off on his own. Which is in turn a bad thing. The spotlight has to be on drummer Kevin Jackson's drum work. Its fast, head-spinning work. I really can't imagine a drummer being this precise and fast. He is definately, no doubt, one of the best in the business. Overall this CD is well done musically. The only gripe I have about it is that the production work, and recording isnt all that great, sounding like they recorded the CD in a bathroom. There are also times that guitars sound teeny and dont really fill the void. Other than that, this CD is recommended as an homage to one of the Bay Area's best. This is CD is out of print, have fun tryin to find it, pick it up if you see it.
THE metal band for the new millenium!!!.......1999-07-17
Without a doubt True to Form is THE metal band for the next millenium and beyond. I have downloaded 4 MP3's of tracks from their CD and loved ALL FOUR songs so much i bought the CD simply to show my support. Sure, i could have stuck with owning 4 really great songs, but True to Form is so good..... they are so driving and rhythmicaly spiritual, i just HAD to buy the CD. At least to show my support for GOOD music for a change. Wait, did i say good? i mean GREAT music. Move over Backstreet boys.... on second thought... stay right there... in the middle of the road..... and wait for True to Form to run ya over! These guys kick @$$ like very few ive heard before. so be prepared for a new metal experience. By the way.... like double-bass drums rippin ya from limb to limb? god these guys rule!!! My only prayer at night nowadays is that God will bless us by having True to Form come to Syracuse NY sometime soon.
