Album Description

Another great Melodic Rock European import brought to you by NEH Records. JOE LYNN TURNER is back on his own. With an eye on the future, he continues to move through the nineties writing, producing, performing and recording striving to bring his style of rock and roll to fans all over the world. This is his latest release.

Customer Reviews:

4 out of 5 stars The best solo album by Turner.......2003-11-10

I think Joe Lynn Turner has a good voice and he did a great job with Rainbow (especially on "Difficult to cure"). His solo albums like "Nothing's changes" and "Hurry up and wait" have unfortunately not been that great, and the reason I think is that the material have been rather weak or of average standard with no particular stand-out songs. But with "Holy man", Turner have released his best solo effort ever. The songs on "Holy man" reminds a lot of the two Hughes Turner project albums ("I" & "II") and if you like those albums I can guarantee you'll find pleasure in this effort. It sure seems as Turner have put a lot energy into the song writing and even if it doesn't work all the way there's enough of great songs ("No salvation", "Holy man", "Anything", "Midnight in Tokyo", and "Too blue to sing the blues") to please any fan of either Deep Purple, Rainbow, Hughes Turner Project or Joe Lynn Turner's previous work. And by the way, don't forget to check out Joe Lynn Turner's "Under cover 1" & "Under cover 2" - two excellent cover albums!

I'm usually a bit sceptic to buy albums on recommendations since the 5 stars are so frequently used, but I bought this one because of David Barrett's review. Thank you David!

5 out of 5 stars Rockin`.......2001-07-25

A great good ol` metal cd. It really rocks! Rainbowesque with a twist!!!

4 out of 5 stars Re-Turner to basics..........2000-11-06

Joe intended his new album to be a recapitulation of his musical experiences with Rainbow,Purple,Yngwie, and a summation of his vocal influences, namely Paul Rodgers. The musicians featured here are fantastic,Akira Kajiama,a rising Japanese guitar ace,Joe Bonamassa,Al Pitrelli,to name only a few,and they all do justice in backing up an amazing vocalist, who also manages to be a skilled composer and play guitar and drums. The sound is very much blues-drenched with solid Hammond organ backgrounds and a powerful rhythm section.Essential for those who want to check out some very tasteful new rock from a legendary vocalist!

5 out of 5 stars Wow! JLT is back!.......2000-10-12

Friends, I have not really warmed up to much of JLT's offerings since the old Rainbow days. He has done some nice stuff with Yngwie and Brazen Abbot, but his solo cds are usually quite limp. Not so with this one. Holy Man is a blazing Rainbow meets Deep Purple platter, with screaming guitars and excellent vocals. JLT has always had the voice, but now he has a real smoking guitarist to back him up. The guitarist is a 20 year old Japanese guy who has the old Ritchie Blackmore sound down perfectly. Raise a frosty for JLT becuase he is back! Holy Man shreds.

4 out of 5 stars Voice that can't be beat!.......2000-09-19

This is a good cd. A must have for any Joe Lynn Turner fan. I love his voice.
