Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars excellence in audio theatres.......2002-04-06

TSN is simply amazing. if you get a chace to pick up either cd, you wont be disappointed. It is exhilirating, original, and true to life music. Thier shows are some of the most powerful i have ever seen.

5 out of 5 stars strong lyrics; exhilerating music. A definite success.......2002-02-24

The Holiness of Now seems to mark a turning point for ThouShaltNot. It's exciting tunes seem more danceable than previous albums(though they are excellent as well). Reed exhibits his hobby for complex, yet interesting lyrics while Fuleki's pulsating drum beats provide a strong backround for Reed's euphonic voice. "without Faith," "Last Comfort," and "Embrace the Sun" are fabulous songs and I especially enjoy the backround singers on "..Faith." Kudos to Reed and Fuleki on a remarkable album. We hope to hear much more from them in the future. Great job, guys!!!

5 out of 5 stars Level-headed, yes it is this good........2001-10-30

I was a little skeptical about the 5-star reviews that this band has received, but I heard them on an internet radio station and figured, what the hey, I like at least two of their songs.

This album really is monumental. The sound is big and epic, and it seems that a good deal more care was put into crafting the sound and words than with most bands of TSN's ilk. Their lead singer has a voice which is really beautiful at times and can be heartwrenching with emotion. The songs are catchy, the programming is top-rate, and there's a nice blend of organic sounds with the electronic base here.

It is not completely flawless - I wish there were more songs on it, as a few are instrumentals (albeit very good ones), and watch out when using a subwoofer with this CD. It has all the low-end it needs without any amplification. These complaints are pretty picky, though. There's obviously a tremendous amount of talent in this group and I'll be curious to hear what they do next.

I don't give 5-star reviews very often, but between the standout songwriting and the way ThouShaltNot gets it all to flow together as a really coherent CD is very impressive. Nothing is annoying on this album, no songs to skip. This is solid.

5 out of 5 stars Holiness of Now rocks!.......2001-10-15

I was surprised when I heard ThouShaltNot's new album because it sounded really different than the first album. I really liked the first one, so i wasn't sure what to think at first about "The Holiness of Now." But by the second song I was totally into it! The band does a great job of making a big sound, as if there was a 15 memeber band, which a lot of electronic-based bands seem to have trouble with. And the album was really religious, but not in a preachy or specific way... which was really refreshing to me. The album was really really wonderful, but I thought maybe some of the songs should have been longer... I guess that's the sign of a really good song though, when you can't stand for it to end. :) That's how the whole cd is... I wind up leaving it on repeat because I want it to keep going.

5 out of 5 stars Breathtaking.......2001-10-15

This album is simply breathtaking, a beautiful and cohesive piece of work which doesn't depend on the black-souled cheese that dominates gothic and industrial music. I have no idea what the previous reviewer was smoking, but the programming and vocals on The Holiness of Now far surpass anything I've heard lately. Maybe, sir, you ought not rifle through your daughter's CD collection with the intent of criticizing music from an uninformed perspective, oblivious to context.

I've found myself falling in love with 'Last Comfort', 'Without Faith', and 'Embrace the Sun'... The album is full of interesting key changed, time signature variations, real strings, genuine lyrics, and with some really touching and clever moments. I haven't heard ThouShaltNot's first CD, but it's on order, and I'm looking forward to it.
