Customer Reviews:
Gasp.....They're not around no mo'.......2006-08-06
This is an album not for the faint of ears. It is strange in every sense of the word. Not like Stephen King strange, but plenty wierd. If you can manage to get your hands on this CD, do so for your own good. It's pretty rare, and a wildly creepy album. The lyrics make no sense, or are just WAY too cerebral for the average Joe. the words in the "screeches" (they're not really songs to sing to) are nothing short of indiscernable. The guitars sound like chainsaws that took on lives of their own and there are plenty of noise tracks with really creepy and down right hilarious tape loops. I dont know if anyone out there really knows what happened to the band or if they were even form this planet. The album is aural abstarct art at its finest and is an important piece in the metal and grind core world of music, even though its not really either of the two. The album clocks it right at 30 minutes, so its a quick listen, but you will listen to it again. Because if youre like me, one listen is never enough and you'll find yourself dumbfounded everytime. It is ridiculous, it's genious in its own right, and it is a must have.
My last review was under Chaz the czar...Please disregard it.
mabel thomas avalanche.......2006-02-24
this is one of the best records i've ever heard by one of the best bands i've ever heard. this is an angry noisy record, i cant describe how it makes me feel. a really important band
who did eyes, the tentacle, and arachnid know?.......2001-12-08
First of all, whatdrugs were they doing? Check out the cover and book art. Theres a picture of a mountain scene with the head of a cat upside down appearing out of nowhere.2nd is the song names: Sky flowers through horse eggs, Eyes the tentacle and arachnid knew, floors growing legs, remembered 29 times, and who could forget Cant seam a mongrel bly. The lyrics in song 08 say(well scream)"Lift the eyepatch, discover the moldy horse"then later it says "the flowers have grown but crept so nice."The CD is nothing shoort of "acid head nothing better to do with their time rockers."It is the maniacal work of a lost mad person not in touch with reality. Its fun to laugh at. The only words clearly capable of being understood are in track 4 and 5. 4 says "pull up another chair" and 5 screeches "i think im gonna die!"
Californian hardcore oddity.......2000-01-07
Fellow hardcore fans, this is deffinitly a CD you want to consider. GASP is a mix of strange dubs, painful, punishing vocals, and music in the style of rough, organized chaos like you've never heard before. I don't even really know if you'd call them hardcore-- maybe grindcore, maybe metalcore, maybe a little bit of all of the above. The lyrics are deep to the point of being hilarious. You'll just have to read them when you buy the CD. Which you better do. Or elves will eat your BRAIN!
