4 out of 5 stars Good selection.......2002-03-10

I'm neither a fan of compilation cds OR Jamie Oliver. Not that I have anything against the guy, I just don't watch his cooking programme. But I will say that his tastes in music don't differ much from mine. This cd features the best British artists of recent times, especially the "Madchester" era, but necessarily not their biggest singles. In fact, the Naked Chef avoids the better-known songs. Blur's "Trouble In The Message Centre" is a classic and should have been a big hit. "Live Forever" is Oasis at their best - no pretentiousness, just intent on sweeping you away with their jingle-jangle guitar harmonies. But um, Toploader? Bit dubious about that...

A full tracklisting of the cd:

1 - Dancing In The Moonlight...Toploader
2 - Motorcycle Emptiness...Manic Street Preachers
3 - RIght Here Right Now...Fatboy Slim
4 - Blow Your Mind...Jamiroquai
5 - Trouble In The Message Centre...Blur
6 - Live Forever...Oasis
7 - Sun Meets The Sky...Supergrass
8 - This Is How It Feels...Inspiral Carpets
9 - Even After All...Finley Quaye
10 - Come Undone...Duran Duran
11 - Loose Fit...Happy Mondays
12 - Take It...Flowered Up
13 - Beggin You...Stone Roses
14 - Roll To Me...Del Amitri
15 - Sundial...Scarlet Division

5 out of 5 stars Great Summer evening CD!.......2001-08-14

This is probably the best compilation CD I've ever bought. This CD begs to be listened to outside with a cold beer in hand. Track 9 by Finley Quay is mesmerizing. Jeez just when I thought I couldn't love Jamie more I heard him on drums on track 16 with his band Scarlet Division and fell in love all over again. GET THIS ALBUM!!!! You will not be disappointed!

5 out of 5 stars This is hot!!!.......2001-08-05

I love this album, there are some great tracks from the past 15 years on there which remind me of the Manchester scene in England. Most of them were used in the uk version of The Naked Chef - shame we Americans did'nt get the original soundtrack! But this album makes up for it, and it has an interesting glimpse of Jamie's own band "Scarlet division" with track 16 - Sundial. Great tune! I can't wait for their album later this year. Anyway - buy a copy of Cookin' now - you'll love it.

5 out of 5 stars LOVED IT!!!.......2001-07-20

Wicked selection of tunes. Jamies own band - Scarlet division - make a welcome appearance at the end with their debut single "Sundial" - it totaly rocks!! A great album, the man has very good taste in music. CHECK IT OUT!!
