Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars Complete collection indeed!.......2006-05-27

This is everything you could want from the group, at a reasonable price. Any fans of Dionne Warwick or Swing Out Sister will enjoy these tracks - light, cheerful pop. One listen to "Dreamin'" and you'll appreciate their sound. The group had a fine pick of material.

5 out of 5 stars Polly Browne's early music.......2002-07-14

Pickettywitch were named after a village near Yeovil (famous for making helicopters) in southern England, although the band isn't from there. It was a simple case of somebody liking the name.

Their big year was 1970, when they had a British number 5 hit with That same old feeling. This song had previously been recorded by the Foundations, but their version wasn't released as a single. They had a couple of smaller hits (It's like a sad old kinda movie and Baby I won't let you down) and released several other singles without success.

Polly Browne eventually went solo, but her biggest success after she left Pickettywitch was as part of the duo Sweet Dreams, when they had a British top ten hit with a cover of Abba's Honey Honey. This and other music that Polly recorded was to be found on a separate compilation, which also included the key Pickettywitch tracks, but that is now out of print.

At the time of this review, this collection of everything Pickettywitch ever recorded (which also includes a couple of tracks without Polly, but with a male singer, Chris Warren) is still available from Amazon UK. As there were no American hits (despite Days I remember getting airplay), this is probably of limited interest in America, except for ex-patriate Brits.
