5 out of 5 stars Keep on Rock in the new world.......2003-07-25

Who said that the rock was dead??
bands like Autumn Lords keep the spirit alive...
The world should have more bands like then, that understand the meaning of being a rock n' roll band.
Being a rock band is even more that plays rock music, is about lifestyle and filosophy...
They have it all!
Nice going!
Keep this scene loud and heavy!

4 out of 5 stars Devilhorns for the Millenium.......1999-12-18

There are some of us who are born with our hands locked in devil-horn position, preparing for the life, agonizing over proper air-guitar positions in front of our parents' full-length mirrors at the age of ten, staying up until 2 AM at summer camp cranking old, garbled cassettes of High Voltage and Sabbath Bloody Sabbath, and hovering over our collections of vintage copies of Circus Magazine as if they were the tablets of the 10 Commandments.

Wise up, children, for the commandments uttered forth from this mighty indie-glam-metal outfit from Alabama (the only possible place something like this could have evolved from) speak unspoken truths, charged with energetic froth and soaring oneness unheard of since Led Zeppelin's '77 US Tour. Blasphemy, you say? Try the FIRST THREE SONGS alone; mighty, asphalt-hot rock riffs, fully developed songwriting; vocals that ride ... absolutely the most incredible out-of-the-blue shock I have heard from a one-time local gig in years and years.

As for my predilection, I don't even know these guys. I saw them in Memphis this summer and have carried their torch ever since. They blew the headlining band away and haven't looked back. If they don't come to Memphis in the next year (and judging from their often-updated site, they're not), I just might have to make a special trip to the Heart of Dixie. Their live show is strongly recommended for the obvious reasons. I've been impressed with something unknown, but it's been a while since I caught wind of something like this.
