Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars Melodic Rock Perfection.......2006-10-16

For those of you who are unfamiliar with the band, Fair Warning is a melodic hard rock band from Germany. The best comparison is to say they sound like a cross between Bonfire and Firehouse, only better. I rarely encounter such an instantly addictive band. I picked up the CD single "Heart on the Run" a few years ago, and was hooked from the moment it started playing. Fair Warning is quite simply one of the absolute best melodic rock bands out there.

Rainmaker continues on the same track as the band's self-titled debut album. The band made some refinements to their sound, but it is still ultra-melodic rock with catchy hooks, prominent keyboards, and energetic vocals. Rainmaker is fantastic from start to finish (as are all of Fair Warning's albums), and should appeal to all fans of the AOR/melodic rock genre.

NOTE: Frontiers finally reissued Rainmaker in 2006, so you no longer need to pay the high import price to grab a copy.

5 out of 5 stars Mid 90s German Melodic Rock Gem.......2004-07-10

Fair Warning represents the highest quality melodic rock from Germany where legendary bands like Scorpions, Bonfire and Zeno were born. All of their four original albums scored huge sales in Japan with more than 100,000 copies apiece, which few other hard rock bands had ever done in my country. Their second album in 1995 includes BURNING HEART the most popular among Japanese fans. Had this album been promoted well in the U.S, they would easily have been countering DREAM THEATER, GIANT, TESLA, TNT and QUEENSRICHE. This album can have both the 90's straight-ahead hard rock style achieved by the bands such as Giant, Hardline and TNT and 80's classic album oriented rock vibe. My favorite tracks choice include THE HEART OF SUMMER, RAIN SONG, ONE WAY UP and DON'T GIVE UP. This album has more mid-tempo tighter track than the debut so it will take a bit of time to sink in. But with repeated listens you can never live without.
