Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars Classic sound that never ages........2005-12-02

I recently rediscovered the Brandos going through my vinyl. I had 'Honor Among Thieves' and wondered why only one record from such an amazing band. So I looked online, and happily found out about all the other major releases, which I now own. 'Honor Among Thieves', 'The Light of Day', 'Pass the Hat', 'Gunfire at Midnight', 'Nowhere Zone' are all rock solid. Powerful vocals, crisp slashing guitars and solid rhythm, makes a wonderful classic rock sound that never ages. Some songs can be quite intense lyrically, as in the Solution. And there is the occasional quirky Irish folk tune "Hard Times, Come Again No More" on Light of Day, or rockabilly "The Last Tambourine" on Gunfire at Midnight, But all well done and it keeps things interesting. Any and all are must haves.

5 out of 5 stars Eight great tracks, 3 good ones.......1999-10-06

This album is loaded with great music. My personal favorites are "Fortunes of War", "Riding the Red Eye" and "The Keeper" "Fortunes of War" especially, it really strikes a nerve.

But can someone please tell me what "The Keeper" means or refers to? My friends and I all have different ideas.

5 out of 5 stars Marlon should be proud! This band has character........1999-06-26

This is my 3rd Journey into the land of the Brandos and I Still find myself craving for more. No filler here, just meat and potatoes. Dave Kincaid and Carl Funk are a great song writing team (Allies if you please). They continue to address social concerns and know what lies in the hearts and minds of mankind. I won't critique every song they are all well crafted. Highlights for me WE ARE NO MAN, THE SOLUTION, ANNA LEE..... This album has a little lighter edge than Honor Among Thieves but still continues to rock and energize the old ticker. Do yourself a favor and listen to these guys, they enjoy what they are doing and I belive you will too!
