Album Description

TOTAL CHAOTIC GRINDCORE MIXED WITH PASSAGES OF MELODIC GUITAR WORK. THE DRUMMING IS VERY TECHNICAL AND THE VOCALS SOUND LIKE A PISSED OFF GARBAGE DISPOSAL.

Customer Reviews:

4 out of 5 stars Ciribus is great recorded or live!.......2002-07-02

I saw this death metal band play a "guerilla" concert in the parking lot of a local cafe and they sounded awesome...until their performance got shut down. They were handing out copies of their recently recorded CD, "Decimation is Inevitable," but I didn't buy one for some reason.

A year later, I was browsing their website when I discovered that I could buy this CD online from amazon.com! I immediately ordered this CD for an affordable 9.99 and eagerly awaited its arrival. It was definitely worth the wait.

This band has real talent. The drumming is amazing and is full of blastbeats and double-pedaling. The guitar and bass playing is also very inventive and enjoyable. The vocals are the crown jewel of this band, though, ranging from low, guttural growls to high pitched screeches that really stand out in a world of similar sounding vocalists. Like much death metal, all the songs sound pretty much the same but are still enjoyable. The sound quality and packaging of this CD is high quality and very professional (I just wish I was one of the guys that had mine autographed at the performance I went to).

My only complaints are that this album is too short; there are only six songs on here, each one is only about two minutes long, and I've heard songs by Ciribus that weren't on the recording. I know, they probably had a tight budget, so I guess I'll let that slide. My biggest complaint, though, is the cover art. It's disgusting! It depicts a monster exploding out of a nude woman's [privates] and landing on a pentagram while a man's mutilated torso hangs from the ceiling, all in front of a wall of skulls. I know this is death metal, but still!
