Customer Reviews:
An Amazing & Inexpensive Lounge Collection !!!!!.......2003-06-20
Before I even get to the tracks, keep in mind that the price alone makes this one fantastic CD. As a fan of Capitol Records wonderful industry-standard "Ultra-Lounge" series, I found this bargain CD even more appealing.
The album kicks off with the all-time classic "Music To Watch Girls By" by Andy Williams (and as a former modern rock DJ, I can say this track rocks the lounge scene upside down.... you will be hooked).
Another gem of a tune is Lola Albright's vocal version of "Straight To Baby" with music by Henry Mancini(the ONLY place to find it on CD). Albright starred in the Peter Gunn T.V. series which was scored by Mancini and this track was featured in the series. This is a very rare song indeed.
My favorite track by far is "Perhaps, Perhaps, Perhaps" by Doris Day. A classic tune that highlights how great Doris Day really is.
Spy fans will embrace John Barry's "James Bond Theme" and for some swingin' tunes, check out the Les Elgart and Xavier Cugat numbers.
Finally, "The Velvet Fog" provides some candle-lit romance with a smooth-as-silk rendition of "I Got You Under My Skin."
