Customer Reviews:

4 out of 5 stars Great harmony.......2005-05-26

I was a little dissapointed, not in the music, but in the fact that Rob sings all, and almost plays all, another Hugo I would say. While it's great that one guy can have all this talent, it's also nice to believe that the music you re hearing comes from a band, all playing at once. Well, enough of the negative.

On to the positive, it's a great CD. Great catchy tunes. I heard some of these songs from a German internet radio station (Munich's hardest hits) for the first time, then had to order the CD. I am happy I did. Loving melodic rock as much as I do, and loving the chorus's the way I do, I was astonished by the LACK of chorus on the slow song (I forget the name). This song was made for chorus's. I was dissapointed in this, but it is a good song anyway. Worth the money.

4 out of 5 stars Lots of energy, emotion, catchy hooks, and memorable lyrics.......2005-04-04

The Good
"High Tension Wire" is full of melodic energy and power. It has an addictive riff pattern and equally addictive lyrics. You'll be recalling the days of when arena rock dominated the airwaves. The solo at the end is a little indulgent, but awesome nevertheless. "Two Different Worlds" really displays Rob Moratti's powerful, high-registering vocal range. "Beauty and the Beast" is accented by the addition of chamber-like music over understated guitar work. The dual vocal harmonies really enhance the chorus.

"Hearts on Fire" is chock-full of heavy riffs that build to an over-the-top-chorus. The theme is cliché, but "Hollywood Drama" is quite the catchy tune. It has a nice melodic vocal flow that keeps it interesting. It's the final chorus that pushes it over the edge. "Who's Going to Love You Now" has a bluesy feel to it with its piano laced verses and rhythmic drumming. You can hear a Huey Lewis/Journey influence too.

The Bad
Nothing

The Verdict
When you were younger, your parents always said to stay away from the high tension wires, but this set is too compelling to ignore. High Tension Wire has lots of energy, emotion, catchy hooks, and memorable lyrics. It's like having all of your favorite eighties arena rock tracks on one album.
