does this look infected.......2003-12-24
Does this look infected is Sum 41's third CD and it is the most best one they've made yet. This CD is good because it is not about some girl. Also its not sad like the second one. The second one is pop-punk. This CD is actually like real punk. If you liked the first CD you'll like this one.
(more like 4 and 3/4 good.) heavier style, but good........2003-12-09
-The Hell Song: very good. extremely heavy rhythm on the quarter notes and good guitar hooks. funny video too. 10/10
-Over My Head: if you ask me it's single material. more good guitar work and a good chorus 9.8/10
-My Direction: finally, an upbeat song. good verses and for some reason the drums stick in my head FOREVER. 8.7/10
-A.N.I.C.: previously known as...well, i think we all know what the original title was. more than half this song's vocals are cut out, but it's still good. actually, it sound kinda funny with all those blanks. 8/10
-Still Waiting: Heavy song, if you ask me. extremely well done, in an angry sense, and you still feel like you have to take them seriously, which is a good thing in this situation. 10/10
-No Brains: freaking genious. great vocals and a very good 80's metal guitar solo. 10/10
-All Messed Up: pretty good. it's the other upbeat song. pretty good vocal stuff, though not especially good with the instrumental stuff. cool bridge. 8/10
-Mr. Amsterdam: can you say Metallica? how about Master of Puppets?? EXTREMELY influenced by The Master of Puppets album. very good song, even though it's a little monotonous. a good angry song (it has screaming in it) to headbang to...just don't pull a muscle in your neck (it happened to my step cousin when he was trying to head bang to System of a Down's "Prison Song"). it's fast as heck. 9.9/10
-Thanks For Nothing: Stevo32 finally does his rapping thingy. it's really a very good song even though it's so freaking simple. powerful chorus. it changes BPM a few times so the chorus and intro a slow, but most of the rest of the song it fast. 9/10
-Hyper-Insomnia-Para-Condriod: not as good as the rest of the album. pretty much a filler of metallica-ish punk stuff. 6/10
- Billy Spleen: POWERFUL AS CRAP. great everything here. another Master of Puppets kind of song. cool double bass stuff in the intro. furious is the best way to describe it. it doesn't let up. 9.99/10
-Hooch: unusual setup and stuff. BUT FREAKING GREAT. it starts out fast and punk like your listening to a Millencollin song, then for the chorus it's more like "No Brains". then it has a heavy screaming bridge, a searing guitar solo (one F$%^ING GOOD guitar solo), it slows down a gets quiet into a more emotional 6/8 time ending that makes you think: "that was one powerful-energy packed album...and now everything's all......" and it ends. the world seems to sloooow down and you once again think "quiet. so very quiet". so just because of that wicked ender, it's in your cd player for the next year. Best on the cd 30/10
