Sexy heartthrob Enrique Iglesias returns with a slickly produced collection of rhythmic ballads ("Esperanza," "Cosas del Amor") and soft rocking sing-along tunes ("Desnudo," "Contigo"). Iglesias, who wrote six songs here, sounds more confident and in control than ever in this work produced by Rafael Perez-Botija. Ultimately, though, most of this stuff sounds like lightweight pop pap wrapped in lush arrangements, occasionally overly dramatic and consistently overproduced. The tunes go down nicely, but they're instantly forgotten once they're over. The only tunes into which Iglesias injects some notable fire are "Para de Jugar" and the R&B/funk-flavored "Dicen por Ahi." It hardly matters, however, to his main audience--mostly adoring female fans. Iglesias's matinee-idol looks and this sweet ear candy are all they need. --<I>Ramiro Burr</I>

I bought Cosas Del Amor because of the video cd that came with Quizas which shows Enrique singing Nunca te Olvidare on it. It is the most beautiful song I have ever heard - I just wish he would release it again so that more people can listen to him at his best. I saw Enrique on British TV about 3 years ago and realised that this was someone very special. Since then I have been lucky enough to see him in concert and he was superb. I have now got all his CDs but Nunca Te Olivdare is my favourite song on any CD. Contigo is great - Cosas del Amor is fantastic - all the tracks on this CD make for great listening - don't just read this - buy it and see for yourself - every song is well worth listening to. This was Enrique's third Spanish release and it is great. The songs captivate a passionate, spiritual side.

I learn Enrique "backwards". "Cosas del Amor" is last CD I purchased / after Enrique, Vivir, Escape/. Once more I am fascinated by his exceptional voice, smooth, tremulous with a very emotional expression I ever heard. In comparison with "Escape" his voice excels much more thanks to quite different sorts of songs - ballads. That's why I very like his Spanish production /also Vivir/. If his talent as a songwriter is added he is really an outstanding artist. I have to appreciate also a co-operation with Rafael Perez-Botija - beatiful!!! songs, very well done!
I like all tracks but my favorite are Cosas del Amor, Esperanza, Sirena,Nunca Te Olvidaré, Ruleta Rusa.
One thing vexes me - an incessant comparison with his dad Julio. Julio is Julio, Enrique is Enrique and his work proves to be great!

Enrique Iglesias' 3rd Spanish language album (released in '98), COSAS DEL AMOR (which translates to THINGS OF LOVE) is full love, love, and more love. This album is very romantic and beautifully done. It deals with the blissful feelings of being in love and also the heartbreak of love gone wrong. It all starts with the yearning and haunting "nunca te olvidare" in which Enrique sings about someone that he'll never forget. The dramatic energy of the love drenched "contigo" is awesome. The sweetness of "alguien como tu" soars. It's easy to dissmiss COSAS DEL AMOR as overdone melodrama but Enrique is an exceptional vocalist. You can feel the emotion in his voice with each song. The hit "esperanza" is one of the most emotional songs on here. COSAS DEL AMOR is one of Enrique's best albums. It's love-themed sweetness is perfectly balanced. COSAS DEL AMOR also offers up some attitude with the uptempo finale "ruleta rusa". Enrique is an awesome singer/songwriter, no matter the language. This album proves it yet again.
