Album Description

The independent debut release from Williams is a great singer/songwriter album littered with insightful lyrics, homespun intimacy and the sly wit you would expect from a mix tape your older sister brought home from college. SOMETHING BORROWED is produced by CARY PIERCE(Jackopierce, Graham Colton Band, Jack Ingram) and features band members from VERTICAL HORIZON, JACKOPIERCE and THICKE.

Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars Really, really solid album from an up & comer.......2004-12-11

In this day where male singer/songwriters are the flavor of the month, I'm pretty jaded by another pretty-boy with a guitar and a message. That being said- I am pretty blown away by this record.

I heard the first track on the radio and immediately found the sound recognizable in a strange way. Not in that is it Britney or is it X-tina, but more of a "I remember loving this artist 10 years ago" way. This record assimilates the organic chemistry of Counting Crows without the need for paxil or a decongestant. If you can imagine the edge of early pre-bloated Mellencamp, the pitch of James Taylor and the earnest blues of Van Morrison you start to get a gist of the voice.

The players in the band are pure perfection with strong harmonies, tight percussion and amazing Bass playing. Yes, the bassist. I might not utter that compliment again in my life, but the bass player (whom I subsequently discovered was borrowed from Vertical Horizon)carries this record with dead-on beats and unpredictable choices. The harmonies are dead on "jackopierce" and rightfully so, as Cary Pierce appears to have selected this project as a new duo.
