Holy Hell, What a Devestating Noise!.......2007-05-01
I am not one for wordifying my innermost feel'nz when it comes to my favorite music. However, every little review helps, and if I can help the "Slicks" sell some records, I'm in, 1000%! Don't Like You is the first Cheater Slicks record that I heard and purchased. I was very impressed, naturally. But, it wasn't until I saw these handsome maniacs perform live, at some Estrus showcase in Chicago, that I finally understood, completely, why the Cheater Slicks are referred to, in some circles, as "the greatest damn band that has ever crawled on the face of this planet!" This is the primitive noise godhead you have been waiting for! A sonic bloodbath, beautiful, magical, violent, ESSENTIAL! Cheater Slicks represent, more clearly than any band that I have ever heard, the true definition of the words: ROCK AND ROLL. Please purchase Don't Like You, purchase all the other brilliant Cheater Slicks records, get some copies for your closest friends and lovers, and see them live whenever you can. Hell, send them your entire paycheck, and give them your credit card digits, they deserve it more than you do, gimp!
Music's Ugly Muse.......2006-06-11
Cheater Slicks from Columbus, OH are three sideburn wearin' mf'ers who physically burn the hair in your ear canals that, over the last however many music movements there have been, haven't been, and/or might have been, have stood as inspirational pillars for such men as Mick Collins and Mark Arm.
