Customer Reviews:

4 out of 5 stars Good..........2006-05-12

But not great. No need to tell you the story behind this band; if you dont know, read any review or bio of them. As an album, it's very good, and just what they said it would be: L.A. style, from Black Flag to Poison (it should be noted it's "Slip it In" era BF, not "Damaged.") None of the songs really suck, but then again very few of them stand out. And it doesn't work like an album as well as Scandanavian Leather. For their last album, I was disappointed, but then I listened to it in it's entirity. Taken by itself, only a few songs work on their own, but when you listen to Scandanavian Leather straight through, it's almost as good as Apocalypse Dudes. With this album, many of the songs either work on their own, or they don't. Now, it's still a good album, better than 99% of the stuff out there. And there's still enough guts in the album to keep most normal people away (read the lyrics to songs such as "Stay Free" or "All my Friends are Dead.") Overall, I would reccomend this as a good way to get into Turbonegro, but if you have there other albums and weren't blown away, forget it.

Here it is. It is Turbonegro's sixth album. This is the band that brought you heavy rock and heavy drug use. They promote gay sex on every album. This album finds them rocking out better than ever on songs like "All My Friends Are Dead" and "Blow Me." "Blow Me" is their 20th song about oral sex. This band is dedicated. They pay homage to their hometown in "City Of Satan" which has that "I Love Rock and Roll" vibe. Keith Morris (Circle Jerks) sings lead vocals on "Wasted Again." One of the best songs is "Death From Above" which is a punk anthem. Every songs on this album is a hit. This album is much better than Scandinavian Leather, which had some tedious moments. Turbonegro is back in full force. Get you gay leather ass out to one of their shows!

5 out of 5 stars Superbad.......2005-09-02

This album is like a swift kick in the ass in this era of pop-punk. In this reporter's opinion, Turbonegro is the sweetest, juciest nectarine in the box. Make sure you pick this one up.

4 out of 5 stars Again no Apocalypse Dudes, but...........2005-08-17

C'mon you have got to give the whole band props for falling after Apocalypse Dudes and resErecting themselves to produce a record of these once again denim-drenched songs. "City of Satan" is a good rocking song, "Blow Me (Like the Wind)" is funny, and they are showing they're "softer" side (if the best band in the world even has one?) with "If You See Kaye". Now again, this isn't any Apocalypse Dudes, but it's a good album for all you Turbonegro lovers like me! Have a good listen.

4 out of 5 stars just like the other reviewer.......2005-07-16

this is definately not Apocalypse Dudes, and the death-punk is feeling less and less, but it's still got that humor and rock n' roll we all love that Turbonegro give us. They even try something new, a strings section!

Although there is no "Age of Pamparius" or "Get it On" on here, there are still awesome rockers, "City of Satan", and "Stay Free" are to name just a few.
