Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars murder metal/punk .......2005-02-12

This CD was amazing. Divisia is not punk, contary to what those might think. Many of their riffs are metal, Alisha's vox also range thick and high distorting her voice into metal screams with murder metal force. Yes, murder metal is an actual genre. The best and main example to murder metal is "Macabre" if you listen to that band you'll realize Alisha is almost a female version of his voice... Don't get me wrong Divisia still has dramatic punk influence, but like most genius the band is not only that. They are not hardcore or metalcore either, so don't even go there. This album is not a "man hater" album as another review stated, nor are they similiar to Bikini Kill. There was only one song that reminded me vaguely of Bikini Kill and it wasn't the vocals, it was the beat of the drums... Alisha's vocals are like that of the "macabre" mixed with Jessicka from "jack off jill" and Wendy O'Williams from the "Plasmatics"...
If you don't enjoy this cd than you don't understand that Divisia hated all things and they hated themselves.
However, sadly, they do not exist anymore, they broke up after the guitarist killed himself and Alisha ran off somewhere. So that is the end. If I ever run into Miss Alisha Yells I will give her a big hug and compare our twisted disgusting vocals.

1 out of 5 stars Naseous, cacophonous sounds........2002-06-14

I expected this CD to be loud like most punk music, but I didn't anticipate the group's fixation on negativity. While I agree that women's issues are important, going on and on about how evil men are is not going to solve anything. After listening about three times, I felt so naseous. I wonder if men realize that women are human beings. Why aren't offenders like the ones denounced here punished more severely?
