5 out of 5 stars WHY haven't we heard of these guys before?.......2005-06-07

That's what a friend of mine emailed back after I loaned him my copy. (The answer to the question is probably that they never got airplay on the East Coast.) Absolutely sensational early rock, fusing from different genres and diverting toward eventual others. Simultaneously united and divergent, and it all still sounds fresh today. Everyone I've played it for loves it. Plus, one of the two bonus tracks proves that an accordion can rock. (AND, they toured in the Packard limousine on the cover, but that's a separate story...) Flash forward, April '05: they just played again in New Orleans for the first time in 45yrs! How cool is that? Do yourself a favor and order a copy!!

5 out of 5 stars GREAT GREAT GREAT.......2003-12-03

THIS IS ONE OF THE BEST IF NOT THE BEST EXAMPLE OF EARLY ROCK CD'S. THE MUSIC IS WELL WRITTEN PLAYED BY A BAND THAT HAS THE FEEL OF THE SONG AND ERA. ALL OF THE SONGS SOUND GREAT TODAY. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS TO ANYONE. ARE THERE ANY OTHER CD'S BY THE GROUP?

5 out of 5 stars A Remembrance for the "Chili" Song.......2001-08-23

My family literally grew up listening to this album. My father, Abe Levine, a retired Denver Police Officer, wrote the 1st track, I Love to Eat Chili in Chile, inspired (believe it or not) by my mother's famous chile! It is a delight to see this album re-released on CD. This is a great nostalgic album surely to delight listeners who grew up in the 50s.

5 out of 5 stars On The Road With Rock 'N Roll.......2000-06-01

Mando & the Chili Peppers were excellent musicians and entertainers. This record is a good example of the music that made them a popular touring band in the 1950s. A nice mixture of R&B and Rock & Roll. This album is a classic that all oldies fans should have.
