Beautiful Songwriting and a Unique Voice.......2004-07-16

I thoroughly recommend Butterfly 9's self-titled debut record.
I had the great fortune to hear them in their home-land Australia and have been following them ever since.
Suzy Connolly is an amazingly gifted songwriter with a beautiful, soulful voice. Her sense of melody and lyric writing is on par with other great songsmiths such as Aimmee Mann and Neil Finn and the way Suzy delivers her songs is honest and straight from the heart.
The album, expertly produced by Matt Fell, the other half of Butterfly 9, is wonderfully lush-sounding at times and tastefully sparse at others. Matt also contributes to some of the songwriting on this record and his musical asthetic is in perfect harmony with Suzy's.

This is a great debut album.
