5 out of 5 stars LESLIE WEST & CO. STILL ROCK THE MOUNTAIN!.......2003-04-16

Well, I'll tell you Mountain is back and the surviving members Leslie West & Corky Laing are far from being stuck 'like a
rock in a hard place'. Mountains' new CD Man's World /Viceroy Architect Music is like a volcanic eruption! This new CD
comes hot on the heels of the Columbia-Legacy Over The Top 2 CD anthology set released last year. And though this is the
bands first new album in 10 years, it is not their newest material recently (exception: two new cuts did surface on Over The
Top with bassist Noel Redding (ex-Jimi Hendrix Experience). Anyway, The strongest cuts without a doubt are the volcanic
madness of Leslie West! His guitar & vocals are beyond blazing on the Bluesy James Brown classic "Man's World," the Rock
stadium assault on "In Your Face," and the classic Rock on "Crest Of A Slump". Drummer Corky Laing still belts out a
mayhem and is a solid backbone against West's monstrous offerings. But... Laing's Bluesy-Ballads would remain better off on
a Bruce Springsteen album. The point is that as a Hard Rocking unit Mountain still works as long as West is at the peak, and
that's the bottom line! Hey! I love these guys and hope that they wake up all these soggy assed bands that the other labels are
