Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars Best Saga album.......2003-12-07

Saga is the band that probably opened the path to the neo-prog genre. Their music was sympho-oriented until the beginning of the 80's, then became more synthetic, but still featuring great songs. This album belongs to the second phase described above, and is IMHO Saga's swansong. Bombast added to dramatic voices make for a very enjoyable album. If you are looking for an album in the vein of Rush's 'Power windows' or Marillion's 'Misplaced childhood', you should purchase this one. Believe me, this is a true masterpiece.

5 out of 5 stars Masterful Saga Collection........2003-02-27

I had always been a fan of WORLDS APART, but when I heard BEHAVIOR, I would have to say it is even better. WORLDS APART had it all: hard-rocking vocals, wonderful melodies & excellent track sequence. BEHAVIOR is all that, plus the added experience of a band that has played together for several more years before recording these tracks. They are much more polished and the songs are an incredible tribute to their talent. The first time I heard this CD, I was not crazy about it, but after listening to it numerous times, you realize what a masterpiece it actually is. I would recommend this CD to any SAGA fan.

5 out of 5 stars ESSENTIAL!! Great: Songs, Playing, Feel and Direction.......2002-04-05

If you are a SAGA fan you MUST own this record! (I could stop here). Recorded in the days when MTV started to kill the integrity of music, Behaviour is (arguably) THE Saga album. It gushes of sincerity and the aforementioned and now long gone integrity!! World's Apart, which should be taught in school, gets the credit for being THE Saga album, however.
We all have a handfull of records where we love every song- Behaviour is one of those records!! Queen The Game has a similiar vibe to Behaviour, a variety of styles that work well as a whole. Do you know how hard that is to do musically!?! To mention a couple songs: Misbehaviour and Here I Am are riffy rockers w/ a killer groove while What Do I Know, You and the Night and Listen to Your Heart are softer and more thoughtful but still pack a nice punch. Out of the Shadows and (Goodbye) Once Upon A Time are gorgeous epics!
Misbehaviour is the work of a band that sadly never got their due credit in America and really needs to be heard. Their follow up Wildest Dreams continues their poppier direction very nicely as well. Do yourself a favor a grab this one- you'll sit there dumbfounded w/ your mouth open as I did after 5 listens in a row!

4 out of 5 stars 16 years on, I'm still crying..........2001-08-24

Sagaýs music has always contained a lovely strand of melancholia, due in no small part to Michael Sadlerýs haughty, sonorous vocals. Much has been made of Sagaýs change in direction on this album: a shift towards something poppier and less pretentious than before. For me, the stripped-down electro-pop approach worked beautifully. When Sadler sings What Do I Know, Take A Chance and You And The Night, he sings of a wounded heart and with the accompaniment of lovely bleating keyboards, the effect is devastating. Behaviour was my personal soundtrack in ý85 and ý86, and listening now ý and remembering the pain and anguish of a broken relationship I find the tears still flow as if it were yesterday. Quintessential, quasi-perfect, heartwrenching stuff.
