Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars Good Bands Travel Slow Sometimes..........2005-02-18

Sonata Arctica decided to make a live album after only two studio albums. It's not a bad thing but maybe it could have been better to release it after three or four albums although they had many great songs to perform. Actually almost every song is worth performing. Something had to left out. The classic songs "San Sebastian", "Destruction Preventer", "Tallulah", "8th Commandment", and the first single track "UnOpened" don't appear in this live album. There's however great tracks from their second and first album. The songs "Kingdom for a Heart", "FullMoon", "Replica", and "My Land" can be found in "Ecliptica" and others in "Silence" ("Respect the Wilderness" only in Japanese version of "Silence"). The keyboards are excellent...Mikko Harkin really gives his best through the gig. The songs "Kingdom for a Heart", "False News Travel Fast" etc wouldn't be so good withouth the solos. Also the Japanese audience can be with Sonata Arctica. They shout and sing very good with Tony Kakko (the vocalist). Most remarkable is the song "FullMoon" in which the audience sings "Runaway, runaway...". The live gig includes enough ballads but not too much. "Sing in Silence", "Last Drop Falls", "The End of This Chapter", and "Replica" are really great time to peace after the songs like "Kingdom for a Heart", "False News Travel Fast", and "Respect the Wilderness". The end is like it should be: "Wolf & Raven"...the song that made them famous...an upbeat and angry song.
