2 out of 5 stars Typical Power Pop blah..........2001-01-16

I instantly fell in love with the incredible catchy single "New Tokyo Is Calling". But like junk food, The Stereo is a bnad that at first you crave, and soon after you become quite sick of. The four chord power pop songs that are prevalent on this album (and others by the band) are songs that intriguing by their sheer simplicity, but eventually left me looking for something else. If you found the opening track off of Jimmy Eat World's latest album (Bleed American) wonderful and loveable, then this EP is right up your alley. If you long for something more complex and musically dense, move on. After a few more spins of this disc, I've gotta remove three of my original five stars.

5 out of 5 stars jamie woolford is my rock god.......2000-08-10

i heard my friend say that to me as we left the last show animal chin ever played. i didn't give it much thought. i was very skeptical about this new "project" of his. however, this is no project, nor is it in any way inferior to animal chin. the stereo is an absolute amazing piece of rock history that truly is part of "the new rock" it is sweeping the planet, and it will overcome the evils of all that is unholy(TRL, Boy Bands etc.) so once again jamie woolford is my rock god.

5 out of 5 stars wow.......2000-08-07

They aren't emo or punk, or rap-core or ska, or alternative, or Bavarian sheep herding music. They are true rock and roll. They are great musicians who can write really great songs. They are too good for radio or Mtv. The only problem with this EP is that it is WAY to short. It makes you want more the second its over. You need to get this CD and support this band NOW! or go back to listening to Limp Bizkit and watching TRL in you pathetic rockless life. its your choice.

5 out of 5 stars Yet another amazing release from teh Stereo.......2000-07-23

Alright, I'll tell you how it is: the Stereo is by far one of the most talented, amazingly lyrical, and just awesome bands i've seen, heard..etc.. in a lonng time. the singer is the EX singer from animal chin, and the original line up of this almost new band had the guitar player from the impossibles. the stereo's music is unlike any other, and i've heard NO ONE that's ever had any complaints about the music these guys crank out. They sing emotional..pop-punky-rock songs about all kinds of things, relationships, friendships, hardships, happyships...haha all that other good stuff. The singer (Jamie) has truelly an amazing voice, and the talent that this band poses will blow you away if you see them live or pick up the CD or EP. Whenever i've seen them live, the guitars always sound perfectly in tune, the vocals are tight as hell..and they're all so musically and it seems mentally in tune with the others. You can tell that this band will surely 'make it' without changing a thing. They're one of those bands that once you put the music on, you really have a hard time turning it off, and almost have to hold yourself back from singing along. i'm tellin' ya..check these guys out..they're simply marvelouse
