I just saw the band play at the International Pop Overthrow and I couldn't leave without owning a CD. This record is a pop adventure from beginning to end. Take Joe Jackson, add in some Elvis Costello, a touch of the Pixies and a liberal amount of pure pop energy, and you can begin to imagine the wonder that is Leisure McCorkle.

High Energy Infectious Sing-Along Power Pop.......2003-07-02

I'd never heard of Leisure McCorkle but bought this disc based on many glowing reviews here on Amazon and in other places.

When I first played the disc, I thought I'd mistakenly put in Elvis Costello's "My Aim Is True" or "This Year's Model"...

Leisure McCorkle will take you back to the late 70's/early 80's when Nick Lowe, Squeeze, and Elvis Costello were making fun, guitar-based pop songs that have instantly memorable hooks and lyrics.

Pure Fun............2002-11-21

I bought this after seeing it on several POWER POP "listmanias"....what a great album.

The songs fall into one of two categories here.....catchy or heartfelt. The up tempo stuff will stick in your head like a radio jingle....but in a good way. The slower stuff will make you remember the first great love in your life....and the heartbreak that came with it.

This is one worth taking the blind leap on.
